Stannard, Richard Harold

Richard Harold Stannard, 75, of Lookout Mountain, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Stannard grew up in a Catholic family and continued his Catholic belief and being faithful to God. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine mechanic and served his tour in Germany. After returning from Germany, Mr. Stannard started his career as a police officer in Connecticut and later was employed by Henry Schein (dental division) until his retirement in 2005. Richard, along with his wife, were active members of Save Our Setter Organization. He also enjoyed his membership and activities, including receiving “The Quilt of Honor” at the American Legion Post #106 in Trenton. He was an avid golfer, never missing the opportunity to get in 18 holes. He also enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife and friends. 

Mr. Stannard was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Robert & Alexandra Dzwil Stannard, and brother, Robert P. Stannard.

He leaves his cherished wife, Julie M. Timmins Stannard; son, Rick (Mary) Stannard; daughter, Jennifer “Jenny” (Jim) Stevens; grandchildren, Andrew & Danielle Stevens; and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28 from 4-7 p.m. at the American Legion Post #106 in Trenton. Mr. Stannard will be interred in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
