Gifted Artist Was Longtime Employee At The McCallie School

Jeffery “Jeff" Lenell Lewis transitioned from this life into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. 

 

He was born to the union of Laurette Fields-Lewis and James Lewis in Chattanooga, TN. 

 

Jeffery graduated from Brainerd High School and continued his education through a certificate program at the Chicago School of Arts.  He was a gifted artist and participated in mural displays in the community.   He was a member of Shepherd’s Chapel. 

 

He was a long-time employee at McCallie School where he was honored as the Employee of the Year and the recipient of several awards and recognitions.

 

Jeffery was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mark Fields, Sr. and Lula Ballard Fields (Robert) Hogue: brother, Mark Lewis; father, James (Carolyn) Lewis, dear friend, Phyllis Thomas.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, loving mother, Lauretta Lewis, Greenville, NC; aunt, Carolyn Fields, Louisville, Kentucky; sister, Karen Fletcher; brother, Donald Smith; cousins, Eric (Wanda) Fields, Sr., Mark Fields, Kenneth Fields, and Teresa Rankins, all of Louisville, Kentucky; stepsisters, Sara Denise Lattimore, Katherine Russell, Stephanie Fletcher, and Lisa Lake; close friends, Billy Moten, Wilton Griffin, McCallie School Family, and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude, American Association of Diabetes, American Association of Hypertension, or a charity of your choice in remembrance of Jeffery Lewis. 

 

Public viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 8, followed by the funeral service at noon in the chapel.
