Moc Golfers Seventh At Sea Palms Invitational

  • Thursday, March 4, 2021
The red pen came out as the Chattanooga Mocs open play today at the Sea Palms Invitational. Paul Conroy and Alex Cobb fired 66 and 67, respectively, as the Mocs tallied 1-over 285 as a team sitting in seventh place after 18 holes.

Conroy’s 66 is his low round in just his seventh card joining the Chattanooga squad in January from Ireland. It is one shy of A.J. Lintunen’s team-low 65 en route to winning the J.T. Poston Invitational in the fall. Conroy is tied for first, one ahead of Cobb who is playing as an individual.

Lintunen brought his red pen as well with a 1-under 70.
Gabe Hunter shot 74 with Leon Bader’s 75 completing the counting cards. Oliver Simonsen’s 76 was the drop score. Connor Nolan was an even-par 71 as an individual.

Kennesaw State leads in the early going with 275. Jacksonville State is in second at 277 with host Western Carolina third at 278. Conroy is tied with Luke Phillips and Takafumi Shimoji from Kennesaw State as well Georgia State’s Josh Edgar in the lead at 5 under.

The field returns to the tee Friday morning for the second round before finishing Saturday. Click the scoring link above for complete results and pairings when available.
