Groover, Margaret Brindley Christian (Summerville)

Margaret Brindley Christian Groover, age 76, of Hemphill Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021, in a Rome hospital.

She born in Dundee, Scotland on Feb. 18, 1945, a daughter of the late Milford Lee and Margaret Milne Brindley Christian. Mrs. Groover was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church and formerly worked for St. Paul Insurance Company in customer service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Oliver.

Surviving are her husband, Patrick Groover; daughters, Jamie Richey (Wayne) and Cherie Oliver (Bradley); sisters, Elaine Fanning (Roland) and Eileen Scallard; grandchildren, Christopher Oliver, Nicolas Oliver, Charis Richey, Brian Richey and Brindley Richey; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Mac McCurry officiating, interment in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Ga. Active pallbearers will be Steve Morrison, Gene Smith, Christopher Oliver, Nicholas Oliver and Brian Richey.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 17, from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Earle Rainwater Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
