U.S. Army Veteran Retired From Dixie Yarns After 44 Years

Jimmy V. Carroll, 85, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Theodore and Maxie Carroll and was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Jean Carroll.

Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Dixie Yarns after 44 years of service.

He was a former deacon at East Ridge Presbyterian Church.  

Survivors include his three children, Licia Lynn Carroll (Sjurdur Hojgaard), Linda Bunnag (Sumanote), Tom Carroll, all of Chattanooga, two grandchildren, Gregory Tyler Carroll (Jessica), Lauren Victoria Lewis (Jim), three great grandchildren, Jensen, Delaney, Elizabeth, two brothers, Billy Joe Carroll (June), of Section, AL, Thomas Glenn Carroll (Sue), of Chattanooga, TN, sister, Wanda Lou Battles (Benny), of Ooltewah, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend J. R. Caines officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military rites being conducted.

The family will receive friends from 4–8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, at the funeral home.

Due to the current pandemic we respectfully request that those in attendance wear masks and abide by all CDC recommendations.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to East Ridge Presbyterian Church, 4919 Court Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37412.
