Anthony George Carter, Jr., 66, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, at his residence.  

He was a graduate of Brainerd High School.  He was a former pastor of Quinn Chapel AME Church.  Anthony was a member of the Prince Hall Masons and Armistice 440 Elk Lodge. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Carter, Sr.; mother, Velma Carter; brother, Kenneth Simmons; and sister, Patricia Ann Carter. 

Survivors include his daughters, Keisha Carter of Atlanta, GA and Army Major Monique (Joseph III) Kennerly of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Joseph Kennerly IV and Moriah Kennerly; sister, Linda Carter (Presiding Elder C. Robert) Finch of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

A memorial service will be on Thursday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Finch giving the words of comfort.
