Stanley LaDell Farmer, a longtime resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died unexpectedly on May 14, 2021, at the age of 55.  

Stanley was born to Laura Teresia Farmer and Alsee Rutledge Sr. on February 9, 1966 in Chattanooga,Tennessee.  Stanley graduated from the Chattanooga Public School System in 1984.  Stanley was a construction worker and also a valued member of the Masonic Lodge. 

As a veteran of the United States Army, Stanley served proudly for over 6 years as a Heavy Construction Equipment Operator. He was a decorated servicemember earning multiple awards to include: Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbons. 

Stanley was jovial, loved life and loved his family.  He will be truly missed by all that knew him. 

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Laura Mae Farmer; grandfather L.C. Farmer; aunt, Ola B. Williams; uncles, Emmanuel C. Farmer, George Stewart Farmer, and Franklin Woodrow Farmer; cousins, John Harper Farmer, Bernard Jenkins, Eric Glenn Jenkins, Terence Williams and Terrell Taylor. 

He is survived by his mother, Laura Teresia Bostick; father, Alsee Rutledge Sr.; aunt, Mary Rosetta Taylor, two daughters, Jaide Kelly and Tavia Farmer; three granddaughters, Rylee Kelly, Rylynn Kelly, and Amara Farmer. Stanley is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Geoffrey (Kenyaetta) Farmer, Kimberly Bostick, Andrea B. (Dealton) Charles, Stephanie Bostick, Alsee (Annittra) Rutledge, Jr., Freeda (Floyd) Rounds, Danny Rutledge; several cousins, Marcia Williams, Pamela Williams, Sherri Williams, Felicia Farmer, Karen Sabrina Taylor, Cynthia Taylor, Marcus Taylor, Billy Joe Taylor, Jerry Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Dr Terry Wynn, Carol Taylor, Sharon Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Christopher Taylor, David Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Tommy Johnson, Steven Johnson, Darron Johnson, William Farmer, Ricky Farmer, Frankie Farmer, Jackie Farmer, and Annette Catchings; a host of nieces, nephews and great cousins; he also had a special friend, near and dear to him, Andy Sheats. 

Public viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at noon with Kenneth Love as officiant. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. 

The repast will be held at Party Bites Kitchen and Catering, 806 E. 12th Street, Chattanooga Tn. 37403.
