Lou Vera Flowers Ralston, 84, passed away on May 15, 2021.

 

She was born in Ellington, Mo., on May 27, 1936. She was in the Women’s Army Corps (June 54-56). She married Richard W. Ralston, Jr. on June 17, 1957.

 

She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching sports, was an avid reader and loved the theatre and music – especially the CSO Tivoli concert series.

 

She was a very generous and giving person. In Cleveland, Tn., she volunteered several years for the American Red Cross and Opportunity for Adult Reading. In Chattanooga, she was a devoted supporter of Feeding America, Heart Association, the Red Cross, and National Federation for the Blind. 

 

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Richard Ralston, Jr.; three children, Richard Ralston III, Michael Ralston, and Elizabeth Ralston; and her sister, Delcie Thurman.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and many siblings.


A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, at Chattanooga National Cemetery where the U.S. Army will perform military honors.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera or Feeding America.

 

A visitation will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
