United Way Of Greater Chattanooga Announces $4 Million In Community Investments For Most Recent Funding Cycle

Friday, July 30, 2021

United Way of Greater Chattanooga on Friday announced $4 million in grants to area nonprofits through its most recent cycle of community investments. The funding is being awarded to 66 grant applications from 41 agencies across United Way of Greater Chattanooga’s funding footprint that includes Hamilton, Marion, Sequatchie, Walker, Dade, and Catoosa counties.

Unique to United Way’s grantmaking model, the grant selections were made by a team of community volunteers. The grant applications selected for funding are comprised of four different kinds of grants offered in this award cycle – Impact, Innovation, Capacity, and Traditional Grants. Awards support organizations doing impactful work to solve community problems across three focus areas of Education, Stability, and Health and Well-being.

This funding cycle marks the final round of a four-year transition process designed by the organization, its partners, and the community. The next grant cycle will be open to a wider range of organizations in the region and has been designed to be even more competitive, collaborative, and inclusive of the many additional area nonprofits working in United Way’s areas of focus. The next cycle will open for application in January of 2022. Organizations interested in learning more about the new funding opportunity are encouraged to sign up to stay informed through United Way’s capacity building arm Venture Forward atventureforwardnow.org.
