Jay Woodall
John "Jay" David Woodall, 51, of Atlanta, Georgia, died on August 4, 2021, in Atlanta.
Jay was born August 8, 1969 in his hometown of Chattanooga, to John M. Woodall (deceased) and Linda C. Woodall, of Ooltewah. Jay attended The Lutheran School and the Baylor School (’87) in Chattanooga, University of Colorado at Boulder and Georgia State (MBA). Jay also earned the professional designations of CLU and CFP.
Following the legacy of his father, John M. Woodall, Jay was a long-term professional in the insurance and financial planning industry. He was currently working to help clients through Woodall Financial Advocates, LLC, at Allstate Financial. Jay also worked for Highland Capital, SunTrust Wealth Advisory and Northwestern Mutual, all of Atlanta, Georgia. He strived to work with people in the noble effort to protect their families and plan for their future.
Jay was larger than life. He had a firm handshake, a radiant smile, and a huge heart. He was most known for his contagious laugh and perpetual twinkle in his unforgettable blue eyes. Everybody that knew Jay loved him. Along with his cheerful and comedic energy, he was a lover of good food, great books, music, travel, and adventure. During his world travels and adventures, he hiked the Appalachian Trail, the Colorado Trail, and rode his bike from Atlanta to Chattanooga to Birmingham, just for kicks! He had a deeply kind and generous spirit. Jay will be missed deeply.
Jay is survived by his wife, Dawn Gonzalez Woodall, and his children, Isabella Rose (15) and Madeleine (11) of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Linda C. Woodall, of Ooltewah, Tennessee; sister, Melissa Woodall Curtis, brother-in-law, Michael Curtis, niece and nephew Katherine and Jack Curtis, all of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee; in-laws Milton and Rose Algreen, and sister-in-law, Melissa Algreen, all of Atlanta Georgia.
