UTC Football Ranked No. 18 By AFCA

The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced its first Top 25 poll of the year. The FCS coaches list Chattanooga at No. 18 mirroring the earlier Stats Perform release unveiled last week.

The Mocs are the highest ranked Southern Conference school slotting one spot ahead of VMI at 19. Samford, ETSU and Furman are also receiving votes.

The poll also revealed an exciting start for fans in the Scenic City. The Thursday, Sept. 2, opener at Finley Stadium against 25th-ranked Austin Peay is the only matchup of ranked FCS in week 1.
Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
