Lee's Busato Named Gulf South Freshman Of The Week

Lee's Gui Busato was named the Men's Soccer Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week the league office announced on Tuesday. 

Busato, a forward from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, scored the first goal in the Flames' 2-1 win over No. 8 Union on Friday night. Busato played 85 minutes in Friday's 2-1 overtime victory over teh Bulldogs and 83 minutes in Lee's 2-1 overtime win over Christian Brothers.

On the year, Busato has scored twice and picked up an assist to help lead the Flames to a 4-1 start and perfect 2-0 in GSC play.
Lee will travel on the road this weekend in GSC action as it takes on Mississippi College on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Delta State on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Sophomore Haleigh Holland was named the Women's Soccer GSC Defender of the Week the league office announced on Tuesday.

Holland went 2-0 in goal for the No. 18 Lady Flames this past weekend. She allowed just one goal and posted four saves as the Lady Flames knocked off Union on Friday, 4-1 and Christian Brothers on Sunday, 1-0.  The Vestavia Hills, Ala. native was filling in for starting goalkeeper, Jackie Burns, who is currently playing for the Northern Ireland National Team.

The Lady Flames are now 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the GSC. They will head on the road this weekend for a showdown with Mississippi College on Friday at 2 p.m. before finishing off the trip at Delta State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
