John M. Brown, 67, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021.
He was a retired Chief of Police for the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and touched many lives as a Sunday School teacher at Bayside Baptist Church. His life’s passion was to share the Gospel. John enjoyed reading, writing, hiking, gardening, collecting superhero figures for his grandsons, and tribal police badges for himself. He loved Shar-peis and had four throughout his lifetime.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Brown and D. Jean Brown, as well as his older brother, Pastor Mark Brown.
He leaves behind his wife, Tonya Brown; daughters, Jennifer Brown and Heather Brown; sister, Nancy Goodwin of Cambridge, OH; brother, Pastor James M. Brown of Winston Salem, NC; grandsons, Gavin Brown and Cooper Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
