Three-peat state champion McCallie and rival Baylor combined to place 11 student-athletes on the 2021 Tennessee Sports Writers Association Division II-AAA All-State football team. In Class AA of DII, Silverdale landed two players, while Chattanooga Christian received a single nod, for a total of 14 Chattanoogans named.

Blue Tornado senior quarterback William Riddle added yet another superlative to a growing list of accomplishments with his selection to the prestigious honor. Joining him on the squad are teammates Xavier Gaillardetz, a senior wide receiver, along with senior o-lineman Cooper Rumfelt.
On the defensive side of the ball are, lineman James Howard, linebacker Aaron Crowder, and defensive back Kenzie Paul. All are seniors.

Baylor’s multi-talented, multi-sport Caleb Hampton, a junior, leads off Baylor’s honorees. Joining him on offense is another junior, offensive lineman Brycen Sanders.

Red Raider junior defensive back Evan Haynie was tapped, along with Baylor’s two seniors on the squad, linebackers Trey McDonald and DeCorian Jones-Montgomery.

Over in Class AA, Silverdale saw two junior players make the list as offensive lineman Kyle Shoemaker and athlete Brett Rogers were honored. Chattanooga Christian sophomore defensive back Boo Carter was an honoree.

On Thursday, the association’s 2021 All-State cross country team will be announced, followed by volleyball on Friday and girls soccer on Saturday.

I know him to be a fine Christian gentleman, a patriotic American, a genuinely compassionate leader. For many years, at his church, he taught Sunday School. On behalf of the U.S. Department of Justice, he taught constitutional ... (click for more)

It bans angry mobs and profane picketers from going into neighborhoods to protest in front of somebody’s house. We’ve seen the upraised middle fingers and the insidious language spewed out of megaphones in recent weeks in front of some Supreme ... (click for more)
