Sara Ann Shelton Henry, 80, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at a local healthcare facility, surrounded by her family. She was born on Sept. 1, 1941 in the White Oak community of Bradley County to the late Robert and Ida Mae Millard Shelton. Sara was retired from Charleston Hosiery Mill and was a member of the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William R. Henry; sister, Bobbie Lou Shelton Jenkins; step-daughter, Cathy Hughes; and great-nephew, Miles Jacob Edward Jenkins.
Sara is survived by her niece, Kimberly D. (Jason) McMillian, of Dayton; nephew, Donald E. (Wendy) Jenkins, of Cleveland; great nephew, Jonah (Hope) Jenkins, of Murfreesboro; her best friend of 57 years, Reba Webb; two stepchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-granchildren; and several cousins also survive.
A celebration of her life will be conducted Monday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, 2415 Georgetown Road, NW in Cleveland, with the Rev. Shane Lawson and the Rev. Donald Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time from 5-7 p.m. Interment will be held the following morning, Jan. 25, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. The Family will meet at Companion Funeral Home to process to the cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
