The School of Music at Southern Adventist University invites the community to enjoy a Symphony Orchestra concert on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists. Under the direction of Laurie Redmer Cadwallader, the evening program includes Prelude to Act III from “Lohengrin” by Richard Wagner, Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, op. 77 by Johannes Brahms, and Variations on an Original Theme “Enigma” by Edward Elgar. Marcio Candido, DMA, visiting violin soloist, will be featured in the concert.
This event is free and open to the public and also will be livestreamed at southern.edu/streaming.
The public is also invited to enjoy Marcio Candido, DMA, a Brazilian violinist, in concert at Southern Adventist University on Monday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Mabel Wood Hall’s Ackerman Auditorium.
Dr. Candido completed his bachelor’s degree at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the United States, he completed his Master of Music at the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Massachusetts and his doctorate at Boston University. Performing extensively worldwide as a soloist, concertmaster, and chamber musician, including his debut at Carnegie Hall, Dr. Candido has won multiple international awards for his work.
