Congresswoman Nikema Williams Keynotes Hamilton County Democratic Party's Kefauver Dinner

  • Tuesday, October 4, 2022

The Hamilton County Democratic Party will host their annual Kefauver Dinner and Fundraiser on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Hundreds of local Democrats and their allies will gather at the Chattanooga Convention Center Saturday to hear from political candidates and party leaders, and to kick off the final month of the 2022 campaign season.

Among the speakers scheduled to address the Hamilton County Democratic Party’s annual Kefauver Dinner are Congresswoman Nikema Williams (D-Ga.), chair of the Georgia State Democratic Party and the congressional successor to the late John Lewis, and Dr. Jason Martin, the Democratic candidate for Tennessee governor.

This year’s Kefauver event will also highlight the achievements and importance of organized labor. Local union leaders will discuss labor’s role in the economy and community, and the need to vote “No” on Amendment 1 – enshrining “right to work” in the Tennessee Constitution – which will appear on the Nov. 8 ballot.

A VIP cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The dinner and program begin at 7 p.m. Tickets and sponsorships for both are still available. Go to hamcodems.com/Kefauver-2022 for more information or to purchase tickets.

“We are excited to bring back the Kefauver Dinner after having to forgo it in recent years due to the pandemic,” said Rachel Campbell, chair of the Hamilton County Democratic Party. “There is a lot of enthusiasm among Hamilton County Democrats and our friends who want to make a positive change in our community and our state.”
