Lee Men Finish Fourth At The Folds Of Honor Challenge

  • Tuesday, October 4, 2022
The Lee University men's golf team came in fourth a the Folds of Honor Challenge this week. Beck Burnette continued to play well finishing in third at two-under par (70-70-71). The Flames as a team finished a +43 over par.

Oliver Lewis-Perkins was tied for +20 (77-73-76) to finish with a 226. Dalton Chuba was tied for 28th (76-74-79) for a 229. Connor Pollman was 30th (80-74-77) finishing with a 231. Bennett McNabb was 40th with a (78-77-80) for a 235.

Head Coach John Maupin knows there is a lot to work on.
“I love these guys….they have great work ethic, team chemistry, and just commitment to try and be the best. I’ll go to battle with them any day. I have no doubt that we have a lot of great golf in front of us. But there is no sugar coating this week, it was a massive disappointment. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one of our team that ill prepared to play well. And guess what, that falls 100% back on me. I have to do a better job coaching and leading these guys. If there is anyone on our team not angry and embarrassed by that performance than they aren’t in the right place. The lone bright spot continues to be Becks play and ability to put himself in contention for the individual win each week.”

The Flames will be back in action on October 18-19 in Pensacola, Fla. at the University of West Florida.
