Robert Thornton
Robert Earl (Shot) Thornton, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 25, 2022.
He was a 40-year resident of LaFayette. He spent 10 years in his birth home of Mount Olive, North Carolina, having moved back to the LaFayette area in recent years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Thornton.
He is survived by his four children, Anthony (Rebecca) Thornton, Renee (David) Griffin, Robert A. Thornton, and James (Carla) Thornton; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m.
He had fond memories of assisting with the LaFayette Recreation League Football. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LaFayette Recreation Youth Sports Scholarship.
