McCallie students and faculty have spent the last month spreading holiday cheer to others through several service projects and performances.

Service Projects

In the spirit of giving back, several groups of students, faculty and staff collected gifts to fulfill wish lists for 100 children at Westside Elementary School in nearby Catoosa County. A group of students delivered the gifts on Dec. 9.

A group of Middle Schoolers volunteered as bell-ringers for the Salvation Army on Dec. 3. They were stationed at the Signal Mountain Walmart. They also collected bags full of personal care items for the Salvation Army as well.

In addition, TEPs, the Leo Club and Student Council teamed up to sponsor a turkey drive for the Brainerd Food Pantry. Students collected funds to purchase 130 turkeys and they were to the Pantry on Tuesday.

Finally, on Saturday, a group of student volunteers and their families will lay wreaths on graves of veterans at the National Cemetery. Junior Brady Evans organized a number of students who raised more than $4,000 to help purchase wreaths, up from the $1,200 he raised last year.

The music department presented concerts for both Middle School and our traditional Candlelight performances for Upper School. You can view the photos for Middle School here and for Candlelight here

Head of School Lee Burns ‘87 delivered his annual Christmas message talk to the entire student body on Friday during Chapel. The message, entitled "Cups and Crowns: A Christmas Message," focuses on how God's plan for our lives is often different – and better – than what we expect.
