William “Gene” Dill

William “Gene” Dill, 74, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist and was retired after over 30 years from Combustion Engineering. Gene loved old cars, especially his 1965 Green Mercury Comet. He was an extremely caring person, always helping those in need. Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Bertie Dill, and mother, Lois.

Gene is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Dill; sons, Danny Dill (La Donna) and Randy Dill (Linda); brother, George Thomas; sister-in-law, Rose Braley (Jackey), and grandchildren, Tyler Dill (Chelsea), Joanie Dill, Katie Dill, Kirsten Dill, and Jackson Dill.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Dotson officiating. Gene will be laid to rest with military honors.

A memorial church service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at Maple Grove Baptist Church, 9525 Birchwood Pike, Harrison, Tn. 37341.
