Five Star Food Service announced the promotions of three company leaders to new executive positions. With these promotions, Five Star provides a right-sized corporate organizational structure which gives the company’s 35 branch operations the leadership and support necessary to continue their successful growth, said company officials.
Mark Stephanos will now be the executive vice president of Operations, a position added to the company’s executive organizational structure. Mr. Stephanos, who receives his second promotion in as many years, most recently served as the senior vice president of Retail Operations. His 40-year history in the convenience services industry and expert knowledge of micro markets, vending, refreshment services, corporate dining, and food production make him perfectly suited to take on this expanded role. Mr. Stephanos will now be responsible for operations of all service lines companywide.
“This is a well-deserved and logical next step in his storied career,” Richard Kennedy, president and CEO, said about Mr. Stephanos.
Jeff Parks, previously president of Five Star’s Atlanta Region, will now serve as the company’s senior vice president of Retail Operations assuming Mr. Stephanos’ prior role. Mr. Parks’ expanded responsibility will now give him oversight of all micro market and vending operations. His 34-years of industry experience and level of knowledge has primed him for this growth opportunity since joining the company in late 2018 via the acquisition of Southern Refreshment Services.
“I am excited to expose his [Parks] leadership to our entire organization and am looking forward to everyone receiving the benefit of his capabilities,” said Mr. Kennedy.
Frank Field, who joined Five Star fourteen months ago as director of Strategic Initiatives, has been promoted to vice president of Retail Support. He spent the prior five years leading the micro market and purchasing functions for Imperial, a prominent Canteen franchise. A necessary addition to the Five Star executive team, Mr. Field’s new position is the result of the company’s commitment to the retail experience and incredible recent growth. He will oversee all corporate operational support teams including the areas of retail administration, execution, compliance, loss prevention and acquisition integration.
“Frank has been a great asset for us. His operations acumen and servant leadership mentality make him a great fit for this new role,” said Mr. Kennedy.
