Elizabeth "Betty" Gamble, 79, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 in a local health care facility.
Betty, as she was affectionately known, was born in Cleveland and she was the daughter of the late Dorcas "Dot" Burgess Melton and Horace Melton. Her sister, Leona Melton Holmes; brother, Alfred Melton; and brother-in-law, Willard Holmes also preceded her in death.
Betty worked at Hardwick Clothes with over 20 years of service. She also was a baker for the Bread Basket with 10 years of service. She enjoyed Bluegrass music, sewing and working with crafts. Betty also loved to travel with her aunts, Sal Mae Bryant and Mary Lou Childs. She was a member of the Burdette Baptist Church in Meigs County.
Survivors include her son, Andy Melton of Campo, Colorado; grandchildren, William Melton, Joseph Melton, Madalynne Melton; sister-in-law, Linda Melton; nieces, Valerie Melton, Jamie Harris (Dewayne); nephews, Pat Melton (Christie), Whitney Holmes (Tasha), Jeremy Blake Holmes; and extended family including the Rollins, Tinsley, Burgess and Melton families.
The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at a later time at Earls Cemetery with Reverend David Evans officiating.
