Jeanette Alice Bailey Boies
Jeanette Alice Bailey Boies, 93, was called home to be with her heavenly father on Friday, July 11, 2025.
She grew up In North Chattanooga and graduated from Chattanooga (City) High School class of 1950. Jeanette accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior In 1940. She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church for 75 years, during which time she sang in the choir and served on several committees.
Jeanette was one of the first women to be appointed to the Position of Officer for Pioneer Bank, where she worked for 40 years. She married Vernon Eugene Boies In 1961 and they were happily married for 55 years.
Jeanette was predeceased by her beloved parents, Claude G. and Myrtle Hixson Bailey, husband, Vernon Boies, brother, David Bailey Sr., and sister-in-law, Barbara Bailey.
She is survived by brother, Gerald R. Bailey (Jane) of Red Bank; sister-in-law, Charlene Bailey of Grass Valley, Ca., niece, Andrea Y. Bailey of Vacaville, Ca., and nephew, David Bailey, Jr. (Jeneen) of Fairfield, Ca.; five nephews, John (Brenda) Bailey of Crossville, Tn.; Robert (Suzy) Bailey of Soddy Daisy; Thomas (Teri) Bailey of Oxford, Ms.; James (Missy) Bailey of Red Bank; and several grand and great-grand nephews and nieces.
Although they had no children, they were blessed to have two special godchildren, Michele Putnam (Anthony) Holts and Michael (Ruth) Putnam, as well as the dear family of Don and Jane Crane.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, where Jeanette will be laid to rest with Dr. Fred Steelman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Red Bank Baptist Church Building Fund, 4000 Dayton Blvd, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.
