Gary Mitchell Anderson, 72, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at his home.

 

Born in Trenton, Ga., Gary had lived in Lakeview and Rossville most of his life.

 

He was a 1968 graduate of Lakeview High School and graduated from West Georgia College.

 

Gary worked in the banking industry for many years and served as a counselor for CADAS for over 30 years. He was instrumental in opening the Scholze Adolescent Center in Chattanooga. 

 

In 2012, Gary, along with Danny Shirley and Roger Allen Wade founded The Hunter Worley Foundation in Ringgold, of which Gary served as president.

 

He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan, and loved his pets. He was very proud of his sobriety of over 38 years.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Jennie Burk Anderson.

 

Survivors are his sisters, Ronnie (Jerry) Gray, Murfreesboro, Tn., and Lynn Anderson, Lakeview, Ga.;  nephew, Kevin Gray, Murfreesboro, Tn.;  niece, Shannon Dodd, Lawrenceville, Ga.; uncle, Eugene Burk, Rainsville, Al.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Matt Hullander officiating.   Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with Terry Cannon, Drew Eldridge, Jacob Hawk, Troy Potter, Mark Lindsay, and Mark Schockley serving as pallbearers.
