Chris Allen Reed, 41, of Spring City, died on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at U. T. Medical Center in Knoxville.

Born on Feb. 22, 1981, Chris Allen was a longtime resident of Spring City. He worked as a stone hauler for Virgil Reed Stone Yard for many years. Chris Allen loved the lake, camping, four wheeling, mudding and spending time in Gatlinburg. He especially enjoyed spending time in the woods. Chris Allen attended Reed’s Chapel of Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arlie Reed, his nephew, Bryan Rector and his sister-in-law, Dawn Garrison.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Reed of Spring City, his mother, Donna Sue Reed (Mike) Murphy of Sevierville, his brothers, Terry (Kim) Reed, Danny Reed and Brandon Rector all of Grandview, his sisters, Debbie Reed, Kathy (Kevin) Bowman and Karen (Don) Brock, all of Grandview and Crystal (Derrick) McCormick of Spring City, his special friend, Tracy Smith of Spring City, his brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Chris and Amanda Garrison, Allen Garrison and Charlie “Boy” Langley and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Sherrill officiating.  Interment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
