The South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society will meet Tuesday June 7 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative at Cedar Avenue and 6th Street. 

Ken Jordan, assisted by Jarvis Wooten, Eddie Moore and Ronald Cook, will discuss the African  American businesses and residences that once were in the 100 block of South Cedar Avenue, South Pittsburg. 

"Please join us for a step back in time when Dr. William Astrapp, The Willing Workers Club, Cumberland Lodge No.

90 F. and A.M., Ruth Chapter No. 101 Order of Eastern Star and Cumberland Funeral Service were important parts of the community," officials said.
