Danny Lee Lemmons, 79, passed away in his home on July 16, 2022, just one day shy of turning 80. Danny was born on July 17, 1942, the son of Robert Lee Lemmons and Lottie Marie Lemmons. Danny served in the United States Marine Corp, then worked for the City of Memphis, from which he retired, then went on to work for both the Illinois Central Railroad and Riverfront Development in Memphis. He was an avid football fan and a true-blue University of Memphis Tiger supporter.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marie Lemmons; his late wife, Peggy Jean Lemmons; and his brother, Ronald Wray Lemmons.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne Lemmons of Cleveland; his son, Scott Lemmons and grandchildren, Vicki Smith and Leah Lemmons, of Madison, MS; his daughter, Leigh Anne Smith (Jason) and grandchildren, Lawson and Sloane Smith, of Collierville; and stepdaughters, Alaina Hood (Shaun), of Cleveland, and Shelley Templeton, of Cleveland, TN. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Brill (Morris), of Roane Mountain and Judy Bridges (Charlie), of Mt. Juliet.
Pallbearers will be Lee Brill, Joey Hodge, Scott Lemmons, David Morley, Jason Smith and Lawson Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Bud Gelston, Billy Ray Mynatt and Johnie Mynatt.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Fisherville on Thursday, July 21 at 12:30 p.m., with service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Bethany Christian Church in Eads. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to:
