Brown Wins Red Line Bama Duals 2 Finale At East Alabama Motor Speedway Saturday

  • Sunday, July 31, 2022

Besting a 23 car field of United Championship Racing Alliance 604 Crate Late Models, Joseph Brown of Columbus, Ga. notched his career first series win Saturday night at the hallowed East Alabama Motor Speedway on the Alabama/Georgia border.

Leading the first eight laps of the 50 lap, Red Line Bama Duals 2 feature, Brown turned over the lead to Cody Overton of Evans, Ga whom looked to be on rails headed for a $3,000 payday. Lap 37 had other plans as the right rear tire shredded, which handed the lead right back to Brown.

Rome's Mario Gresham finished second as Overton raced back from mid-pack to third overall. Rounding out the top five finishers were Friday nights winner Chase Edge and runner up Dylan Knowles respectfully. Former UCRA winner Jake Traylor was sixth with current points leader and reigning, defending series champion Kenny Kizzar of Sale Creek was seventh.

Edge received a $500 bonus as high points racer of the "Duals". Overton, Traylor and Knowles all received part of the $1,000 bonus money.

On Saturday the UCRA series returns to Fort Payne Motor Speedway in Northeast Alabama for the annual Fort Payne Back to School 40, paying $2,500 to win.
