On Thursday, August 11, 2022, Joan Langston Minks, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 90.

Joan was born on July 16, 1932, in Chattanooga, TN to Roma Wood (Langston) Harmon and Paul Richard Langston. She graduated from City High School in 1950, and married Dr. Jack B. Minks on September 22, 1951. Together they had two children, Robert Davis "Bob" Minks and Lynda Minks Hood.

Joan loved to spend her days on the golf course either playing with her husband or her many friends. She was a member of the Signal Mountain Golf & Country Club and the Chattanooga Women’s Golf Association, where she won the Signal Mountain Ladies Club Championship in 1984.  She always looked forward to her weekly bridge game with her Tuesday bridge club. The Minks were loyal, faithful, staunch Alabama Football fans.  She counted down the days till kickoff and I am sure you could hear her every Saturday when Alabama played cheering on the "Roll Tide"!

Joan's 90 years of a beautiful life was a Blessing with memories to treasure.  She was loved beyond words, will be missed beyond measure and will always be in our hearts.  She was fierce, loyal, and loved her family above anything else!

She was preceded in death by her mother, Roma, her  father, Paul, husband Jack and her son, Bobby. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Minks Hood (Michael) and granddaughter, Lauren Michelle Hood; sister Dianna H. Fitzgerald (Wilbur), and her brother, David M. Harmon (Connie); her many cousins and nephew.

A special Thank You to Hearth Hospice (Amanda and Trena) for your compassionate care and love for mom.

The Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 19, 2022, at 11 a.m. EST at Marr Chapel at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church with visitation immediately following in the Greeting Room.    There will be a private family burial at Forest Hills prior to the service.
