Jack Field Ross, 89, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in a local health care center.

 

A longtime resident of Ringgold, Mr. Ross was owner and operator of My Place restaurant in Fort Oglethorpe, for over 30 years.

 

Mr. Ross was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was preceded in death by his son, Scott Ross;  parents, J.R. & Rowena Alford Ross; and brother, Richard Ross.

 

Jack was a man of integrity and wisdom but most importantly will be remembered as a man that loved his children and grandchildren and scarified his life to make their’s better.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Jill Ross (Stacy Pickens); Ooltewah,  Linda Darlene Ross, Sour Lake, Tx.; son, Phil (Tracey) Ross, Ringgold;  sister, Pat (Woody) Peck, Atlanta, GA;  grandchildren, Cara Ross (Bryan) Janisch, Amber Ross, Coalton Ross, April Ross Wooten, Mark Mayea, Brandy Mayea Norris, Natalie Core, and Derrike Core;  several great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
