Robert Lewis Humble, 79, left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 10, 2023.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Stephen Humble (Carol), Amy Matthews (Chris), Ashley Walker (Dustin) and Megan Humble (Ben Wallace); his sister, Sharon Bragg (Warren); his wife, Ardye, five grandchildren, a niece, a nephew, and numerous other family members and friends. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Orel Trundle and Robert Hillman Humble.

He went to work at Sears, Roebuck after graduation. In the 20 years he was with Sears, he proved to be an exceptional salesman and manager, ultimately serving as division manger of multiple departments. Over the next decade, he owned and operated Southern Door & Window. Some years later, he sold that business and opened Travel Host, a travel agency along with his late wife, Deborah Humble. Interspersed throughout his working years, he was involved in many other business and real estate endeavors.

Robert deeply loved his family and was very proud of his children. He loved going to new places and meeting new people. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand, share a word of encouragement and go the extra mile as exemplified by the thousands of volunteer hours he generously donated to Chattanooga Audubon Society, Brainerd Baptist Church, Memorial Hospital and many other entities. His deep and abiding faith saw him through life’s challenges and trials and was beautifully displayed in his day-to-day living.

A visitation for Robert will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, from 10-11 a.m. at Brainerd Baptist Church, 300 Brookfield Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37411, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brainerd Baptist Church Mike King Summer Camp Fund, 300 Brookfield Avenue, Chattanooga, Tn. 37411 or to the Chattanooga Audubon Society, 900 N. Sanctuary Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
