John Edward Hall, Sr.
John Edward Hall, Sr., 77, of Harrison, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2023.
John was born on Aug. 10, 1946 in Martinsville, Va. William Okey and Grace Jessee Hall adopted John at the age of 9.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Barbara Jean Roberts and Bernice Johnson Atkinson.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years Judy Edwards Hall and sons, John Edward Hall, Jr. and wife, Nikki, of Sweetwater, Tn., and Justin Elliott Hall and fiancé, Kellie McClune, of Lupton City, Tn., and grandchildren, Hannah, Elise, Elliott, and Elijah Hall. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, Wade and Austin Thompson, and Faith Harvey and three step-great grandchildren His sister, Patricia Grubbs of Browns Summitt, NC and brothers, Larry Quincy Vestal of Lilburn, Ga., and George (Buddy) R. Hooker of Collinsville, Va., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
John attended St. John United Methodist Church. He was a dedicated volunteer at CHI Memorial Hospital for several years. John attended Bassett High School and graduated in 1965 from Martinsville High School in Virginia.
John retired from DuPont in 2003 accumulating a total of 35 years of service. John and Judy transferred through DuPont to Chattanooga plant from Martinsville in 1997. John worked independently for 17 years transporting vehicles for car multiple dealerships.
John deeply loved his family and friends and especially enjoyed their school functions and his grandsons’ basketball games. John and Judy always enjoyed traveling and visiting with their Virginia friends. He played PAR 3 golf with his sons whenever possible.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, Oct. 30, at 12 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville followed by interment in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Curt Ashley will officiate the service.
A memorial service will be held at St. John United Methodist Church in Chattanooga on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. with visitation prior to the service. Pastor Carl Blackburn will officiate.

Arrangements are by McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville, Va.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Clark, Mike Forrest, Larry Vestal, Buddy Hooker, Elliott Hall and Elijah Hall.
