Herman E. “Pete” Ables
Herman E. “Pete” Ables, 87, passed peacefully to heaven from his home in Phoenix, Arizona, on September 27, 2023, following a brief illness.
Pete was born in Kona, KY, but spent his childhood in Soddy Daisy, leaving at the age of 20 to enlist in the Air Force. After his discharge, he followed employment through Texas, Georgia and Florida, but after settling in Arizona, had spent more recent years developing and partnering in a major nationwide liquidation enterprise. He was a professing Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Dorothy Ables of Soddy Daisy; infant son, Thomas Jerald, and daughter, Lyn Nappe of Tucson; brothers, Bob, Jim, John and Tom, all of Soddy Daisy and sister, Betty Hobson of Lubbock, Tx.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda; stepdaughters Jessica Davis and Michele Been of Arizona; brothers, Virgle “Buck” (Nancy), Soddy Daisy, TN; Jerry (Doris), Sale Creek; numerous nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline, Mesa, Az., at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 7.
