Betty Jo Deford, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, at her home in Cleveland. She was born on July 30, 1941 in Cleveland.

Betty was a woman of many passions and interests. She had a green thumb and found solace in tending to her beautiful flowers and hummingbird feeders. Her compassionate nature extended to the furry creatures in her yard, as she would often be seen feeding the squirrels. Betty had a love of shopping, and cherished spending time with her family.

Betty Jo Deford is survived by her loving children, Sherry Yow (John) and Todd Deford (Shawna), who were a constant source of joy in her life. She will forever be remembered and missed by her adoring grandchildren, Christena Mariedth, Hannah Barbee, Jonathan Williamson, Ashley Gentry, and her great-grandchildren, Cami Marideth, Meelah Mariedth, Jaiden Williamson, and Isaac Barbee. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, Ann Jackson, Carolyn Earwood and Barbara Burris.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin R. "Todd" Deford, her son Jeff Deford, and her brother, Martin Harrison. She was also predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Don Jackson and Jim Burris.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation in remembrance of Betty Jo Deford from 2-4 p.m. at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Liberty Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery, where Betty will be laid to rest.
