Doty, Inez (Cleveland)

  • Tuesday, October 3, 2023
Inez Doty transitioned from her earthly home into her heavenly home on September 29, 2023. She lived a good full life of 98 years, all of it in the McDonald community.

She was a proud graduate of McDonald Elementary, Bradley Central High School and National School of Business. Upon completing her education, she took a position of teller at Cleveland Bank and Trust, and then at Cleveland National Bank, from which she retired after 43 years of service.

In retirement she was active in the McDonald/Black Fox Ruritan Club. In her spare time Inez also enjoyed quilting. She was an active member of Westwood Baptist Church, where she worked in the library mending and restoring people Bibles and books. She was an avid Braves fan and rarely missed watching them on TV. She also loved cheering on her Vols!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Doty; parents, Watson and Myrtle Beene; and sisters, Leona Beene, Sudie Sheffey and Jessie Richie.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Garnett (Jo) Doty; grandsons, Matt (Wendy) Doty, and Ben (Tina) Doty; seven great-grandchildren, Collin, Madison, Caden, Riley, Will, Knox and Harper Doty; her brother, Tom Beene; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Tennessee Baptist Childrens Home.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland. The family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Lee Cemetery, with her great grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Share a personal memory of Inez or your condolences with her family at her online memorial at www.companionfunerals.com.
