Rita Newberry-Myrick, 67, of Hixson, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. She was born in Sequatchie County on Oct. 6, 1955 to the late Robert Lee and Wilma Katherin Newberry. Rita loved cheering on her favorite team, the Tennessee Vols.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Newberry; child, Kendra Hicks; and her husband, Thomas Myrick.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister, Judy Keener; children, James "Steve" Hicks, Michael "Mike" Hicks, Robbie Hicks, Kristy McConkey and Kenneth Hicks; along with several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

There are no services planned at this time.
