The Chattanooga Mocs softball team is gearing up for the 2024 season head coach Frank Reed announced. This year's schedule includes a pair of home tournaments, three on the road and 11 home dates. Season tickets go on sale Monday, Dec. 4.
The Mocs open the season on the road at the 38th Annual Louisiana Classics hosted by Louisiana Lafayette. Chattanooga opens play against the host Ragin’ Cajuns with games against Cal and New Mexico in the three-day classic.
The Chattanooga Challenge takes place Feb. 16-18 at Frost Stadium with Ball State, Western Kentucky, Murray State and North Alabama making the journey.
A quick road trip to Jacksonville State breaks up the Mocs two home tournaments. UTC and Jax State will play a single game on the Gamecocks homefield on Feb. 21.
Back to Chattanooga for the annual Frost Classic the next weekend, February 23-25, the Mocs host Texas A&M CC, Georgetown, Valpo, Ohio and Tennessee-Martin.
March opens with Chattanooga on the road to Central Arkansas for the Bears tournament. UTC will take on host UCA and St. Francis in Conway, Ark.
A trip home to take on Georgia State on March 5 sets up the Mocs for their annual trip to Florida for the Madeira Beach Tournament. UTC will take on Troy, Columbia, Central Michigan, Bucknell and Stonehill March 8-10.
In the second meeting this season, the Mocs will host Jacksonville State on March 20. Chattanooga opens Southern Conference play in Birmingham, Ala., to take on Samford in a three-game series March 23-24.
East Tennessee State comes to Chattanooga March 29-30 for three games then the Mocs host Austin Peay on April 3 at Frost Stadium.
Wofford begins its first season in the Southern Conference and will journey to Chattanooga for a series April 6-7 to round out UTC’s seven-game home stand.
Chattanooga travels to UNCG April 13-14 and Lipscomb April 17 before returning home to host Mercer April 20-21. A trip to Nashville to take on Tennessee State on April 23 wraps up non-conference play. The Mocs host Furman April 27-28 and close out the regular season May 4-5 at Western Carolina.
The Southern Conference Tournament is hosted by UNCG in Greensboro, N.C., May 8-11.
