Cristi Runyan
Cristi Mendenhall Runyan, 63, of Athens, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was the daughter of the late Dick and June Middleton Mendenhall. She was also preceded in death by her son Samuel Chase Runyan.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Cristi was very active in the community over the years and was loved and cherished by everyone she was around. She was a beautiful and loving Mother and Grandmother who cared deeply for her children and grandchildren. She was always actively supporting them in all of their lifely endeavors.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Candice Runyan and Cayci and Caleb Chouinard all of Athens; one sister, Vicki and Stacey Mendenhall of Riceville; two brothers, Mickey and Tina Mendenhall of Cleveland and Rusty and Ruth Mendenhall of Etowah; former husband and father of her children, Sam Runyan of Athens; grandsons, Madden Cobb, Ty Runyan, Brayden Runyan, Luke Chouinard, Walker Chouinard, and Jakyran Dyer; granddaughter, CJ Chouinard; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted, 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 30 at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Mark Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Smith Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ty Runyan, Brayden Runyan, Luke Chouinard, Walker Chouinard, Madden Cobb, Jackie Powers, and Rusty Davis.
