18th Ranked Mocs Preparing For Furman Rematch Saturday

  • Tuesday, November 28, 2023
The 18th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs and No. 7 Furman Paladins are in round two squared this Saturday afternoon in Greenville, S.C. It’s round two in the quest for the FCS National Championship and round two of the season series.

The Mocs got their first FCS Playoff road win this past Saturday at Austin Peay (24-21). But that’s par for the course in 2023.

The squad is 5-2 on the road, 5-1 at FCS competition. That includes five straight FCS road wins, most since five in 2014 when the squad advanced to the FCS Playoff Quarterfinals which is where they go with a win on Saturday.

"Excited about the opportunity we have to play a really good Furman team this week," Coach Rusty Wright said.
"We had a hard time with them here at home. They've been off for a week and get a bunch of good players back.

"I know our guys are excited and we're going to take this bunch over there and throw everything we can at them, and see what happens on Saturday."

Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. It airs on ESPN+ as well as over the radio airwaves via the Mocs Sports Network on flagship station WFLI (96.1 FM/100.3 FM/1070 AM).
