Timothy “Tim” D. Marrs, 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Belmont University and completed his degree in Pastoral Ministry from Tennessee Temple University. Tim was a member and associate pastor for Cornerstone Baptist Church in Chattanooga, where he also taught Wednesday night Bible Study. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching TV and listening to all different genres of music. Tim was a master at telling corny “Dad” jokes and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Marrs, and his mother, Becky Williams.

Tim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Roberta Marrs; daughter, Teresa Bates (Charles); brother, David Williams (Jessica); sisters, Dessie Shank (Larry), Mona McCarty, Patty Williamson, and Tammy Williams, as well as granddaughter, Vayah Horton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 17, from 2–4 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58.

A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Todd McElyea officiating. A committal service will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 5479 TN-58, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
