Allan Shields
Allan Bruce "Butch" Shields, 69, of Athens, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
He was born on February 28, 1954 to the late Dr. & Mrs. Lester Shields.
Butch studied Industrial Electronics at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, TN. He was a former Electrical/instrument Technician at JM Huber in Etowah, TN. Butch was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and dirt track racing enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Anne Nowaski, Joe Shields; in-laws, John "Junior" and Ada Moses, and his loving dog, Ally.
Butch is survived by his wife, Janna Shields; children, Amanda Rodgers of Cleveland, TN, Bruce Shields of Athens, TN, Tiffany Moses of Niota, TN, Kevin Gray of Athens, TN, 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother in-laws, Andre Nowaski of Leavenworth, WA, Lynn (wife, Pat) Moses of Cleveland, TN, Glenn (wife, Kat) Moses of Athens, TN; sister in-law, Karen (husband, Rodney) Bowers of Athens, TN and his dog, Dexter.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for all of their care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Boyd Memorial First Church of God Fellowship Hall, 1130 Congress Parkway N, Athens, Tn. 37303.
