Westside Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 78th year anniversary in the South Chattanooga community on Sunday. The theme for the occasion is Still Growing, Still Reaching, Still Praying. The celebration will take place at the church, 4001 Hughes Ave.
The 78th Anniversary Celebration will include a full band and choir led by minister of music Anthony Wiley, honorees, and the new Senior Pastor-Elect Reverend George Maize V. Everyone is asked to wear African attire as it celebrates not only the church's 78th Anniversary but Black History Month as well.
Reverend Maize of Newark, New Jersey is the new senior pastor-elect of the Westside Missionary Baptist Church and will be the 78th Church Anniversary speaker. Reverend Maize is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and was raised in Los Angeles, Ca. and Wilmington, N.C. He earned his B.S. in Mathematics and MBA from Montclair State University.
He received an M.A. in Theological Studies from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a
Master of Divinity Degree at Luther Seminary. He has served God through the church as teacher,
preacher, administrator, theologian, musician, singer, producer, and audio-visual engineer.
Reverend Maize is unapologetically sold out for God and is proving himself to be one of the
young prophetic voices God has chosen for such a time as this.
