The Tennessee Lady Vols fell in double overtime to Mississippi State on the road on Monday night.
It was tied at halftime 31-31 and was still knotted at 68 all with a minute and a half in regulation. No one scored for that minute and a half.
In the first OT, a Rickea Jackson layup tied it at 78 all with 15 seconds left. Each team had a turnover after that, sending the game into a second overtime.
Tennessee took a lead, 81-78, when Jordan Walker hit a three-pointer. But Mississippi State got to 87 before the Lady Vols could score again.
Jillian Hollingshead hit two free throws to bring Tennessee to within two at 89-87. But the home team scored four more. Rickea Davis' three-point shot near the final buzzer left the Lady Vols still a point short.
Jackson had 28 points, while Tess Darby scored 10. Jordan Horston was held to eight. Walker also tallied eight.
Jerkaila Jordan paced Mississippi State with 24.
Tennessee drops to 1709, 4-4, and Mississippi State improves to 16-7, 11-2.
