Moorhouse, Nell Evelyn "Jeep" Stanley (Benton)

Nell Evelyn “Jeep” Stanley Moorhouse, 87, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on February 5, 2023 at a local healthcare facility.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1935, in McFarland, Tn. to the late James Felton and Nell E. Campbell Stanley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sister, Genene Crump, and the father of her children, R.W. Moorhouse.

Left to cherish the many memories include her daughter, Rita (Milton) Smith, with whom she made her home; son, Robert “Butch” (Donna) Moorhouse; grandchildren, Brandi Smith, Autumn (Chris) Boggs, Stan (Kim) Moorhouse and Bo (Jamie) Moorhouse; great-grandchildren, Bella Boggs, Jake Moorhouse, Chloe Moorhouse, Brice Moorhouse and Abi Moorhouse; best friend, Shirley Bright; and one special girl, Jennica Bright.

A Celebration of Life graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Benton Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Ricky Woody officiating. Jake Moorhouse, Brice Moorhouse, Kirk Campbell, Wes Bright, Bailey Bright, Dave Martin and Tanner Jenkins will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Brady Bright, Eva Bright, Kelon Bright, Jaley Waters, Savannah Martin, Sawyer Martin, Kenzie Stamey, Camden Childers, Cheyenne Burrell and Jackson Epperson

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Benton Elementary School Library, 215 School House Hill, Benton, Tn. 37307 and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.
