Loftis, Kathy Wilson (Athens)

Kathy Wilson Loftis, 69, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at her residence.

She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County, and was a daughter of the late Garland Wilson and Louise Ledford Wilson Cooke. 

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Joyce Daniel and Ruby Burke, and brother, James Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert (Bob) Loftis; step-daughter, Cheryl L. Plemons; step-son, Wesley Loftis; friend that was like a daughter and her husband, Lesa and Clyde Allmon; three grandchildren, Tobin Loftis, Woodrow Loftis and Christopher Plemons; sister, Brenda (Larry) Armstrong; three brothers, Dewey (Carolyn) Wilson, Gary (Tammie) Wilson and Dewayne (Kathy) Wilson; brother-in-law and his wife, Harry James and Debbie Loftis; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 at McMinn Memory Gardens. There will be no formal visitation.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Allmon, Wes Loftis, Woodrow Loftis, Larry Armstrong, Tyler Armstrong and Brandon Armstrong.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to McMinn Regional Humane Society, 209 Alford St., Athens, Tn. 37303.
