Autism Day Celebration Is April 1

  • Monday, March 13, 2023
Autism Day celebrations began in 2007 and are observed internationally. The Chattanooga Autism Center will host its annual Autism Day on Saturday, April 1 from 11a.m.-3 p.m. at the East Ridge Community Center, 1515 Tombras Ave. The event is run by Celeste Lipps, parent volunteer.

“Celeste has been volunteering for the CAC for over a decade and spends months planning for Autism Day,” said Dave Buck, executive director of the CAC.

The event will have kids activity stations, food, drinks, fire trucks for kids to get in and explore, and a Jeep Contest where people can vote for their favorite tricked out Jeep.
Mosnooga will have cosplayers dressed up as people’s favorite characters, and new activities are being added each week. The day is for autistic kids and adults and their families to connect with each other and have a good time.

The event is free and there’s no need to register.

"Families are encouraged to come to a welcoming safe event where their kids can be themselves," organizers said.
