Timothy Alan Riley (Tim) went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26 from complications of open heart surgery.
Tim was born Dec. 10, 1951, in Moultrie, Ga, the son of the late Thomas Rogers Riley and Eula Estelle Riley.
Tim graduated from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Tim retired as a medical technologist from Hamilton Medical Center, Dalton, Ga.
Tim loved his family. He enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League Baseball and helping them attain the rank of Eagle Scout. Tim was an adoring grandfather who loved playing card games and introducing his grandchildren to various types of music. Tim was passionate about music. From the time he was in high school through his adult years, he played in numerous bands, singing and playing lead guitar. Tim was an avid football fan and loved cheering on his Georgia Dawgs.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sherry J Riley; son Matt Riley (Amber), of Flowery Branch, Ga; son Reid Riley (Michele) of Roswell, Ga; niece Courtney Riley, Atlanta, Ga. Grandchildren include Lillian and Liam Riley, and Ada Riley. A loving extended family and special friends also survive.
Peeples Funeral Home, Rocky Face, is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive family and friends at First Baptist Church of Dalton Atrium on Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m., with a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the church chapel, 311 N Thornton Ave, Dalton, Ga 30720. Officiating is Senior Pastor Jonathon Barlow, First Baptist Church Dalton.
