Jerry Allen Frost was born December 27, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the union of Mary E. Williams and Melvin Frost. On Wednesday morning, May 24, 2023, Jerry departed this life surrounded by loved ones.

A native of Chattanooga, he was raised in Decatur, Al., until his teenage years. Jerry received his education in both Decatur and Chattanooga Public School Systems.

Serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968-1974, Jerry fought during the Vietnam War. Throughout life Jerry was that special person that could make anyone laugh with his witty sense of humor. He had a passion for motorcycles, cars, travel, and family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Mary E. Williams; father, Melvin Frost; grandmother, Pearl Smartt; aunt, Georgia M. Bryant; great aunts, Erma Choice, Frances Williams and Agnes Melton; great uncle, Eddie Choice; brothers, Clarence Jackson and Melvin Frost; nephew, Melvin Frost, Jr., all of Chattanooga Tn.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, daughter, Sade D. Frost, of Chattanooga; grandson, Elijah T. Frost, of Chattanooga; aunt, Pearl White, of Chattanooga; sister, Mary Dian Williams, of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Zundra Frost, of Chattanooga; three nephews, Christopher Frost Sr., of Chattanooga, Clarence Jackson Jr., of New York, Adrian Jackson, of Texas; one niece, Jacqueline Griffin of Decatur, Al.; great nephews, Christopher Frost Jr., of Chattanooga, and Randy Griffin, of Decatur; great nieces, Laila-Marie Frost, Kaizen Frost, Kailee Frost and Soquetta Strong and Amelia Baker of Decatur,; great great nephew, Landon Frost; cousins, Kevin Scaife, of Chattanooga; Marshallnet (Robert Caudle), Lakeysia Caudle, and Robert Caudle, of Decatur, along with a host of other family members and friends.

Heaven Will Not Be Filled With Perfect People. “Heavens will not be filled with those who never made mistakes but with those who recognized that they were off course and who corrected their ways to get back in the light of gospel truth.”

Public viewing will be held from 1–6 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 423 622-9995.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
