Elizabeth G. Bonds, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at her residence.

She was born May 26, 1931 in Chattanooga and was a 1949 graduate of Howard High School. Elizabeth was a faithful member of Greater St. Mary’s Baptist Church. She was a librarian for the City of Chattanooga and was employed by His and Hers Beauty Salon for over 50 years. Elizabeth loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Bonds; parents, Thomas and Essie Mae Gary; sons, Anthony Maurice Robinson and Gary Reginald Robinson; three sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include her sons, Michael (Ann) Robinson of Douglasville, Ga., and Kevin (Wanda Gail) Moore of Chattanooga 11 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elnora Kirby, Minnie Witcher, and Mizora “Tina” Woods, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Elizabeth will lie in state on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Timothy Careathers giving words of comfort.
